Here is the story behind the design of the Fasts' prayer card.
Erin and Ryan Fast came from a ministry who had someone on staff that made their missionary prayer cards and other missionary fundraising material for them. They recently switched to Cru ministries (previously Campus Crusades) and were on their own to figure this part out. Erin jumped on Pinterest first where she found one of our designs. This led her to our Etsy page and eventually to missionsdesigns.com. We are glad she found the bread trail that led her to our site! She sent us a message to ask some questions about a design. She liked our style but had a specific layout in mind.
We were happy to make a custom design that fit her needs!
After she sent over all the info, pictures and logos she needed, we got right to work. We went back and forth a few times with the drafts, but in the end, we had a product we both loved! Sometimes you don’t know what you need exactly until you see it laid out in nice design. We always think of the first draft as a benchmark to work upon. You can find the finished product here.
The Fasts’ ministry is focused on high schoolers in Portland, Oregon. According to a recent study, 1 in 3 people have zero religious affiliation in this city. There are people groups all over the world that have better odds than those! Erin grew up in the Portland school system and witnessed first hand the absence of Christians in her schools. The Fasts previously served overseas but changed gears to focus on students here in the U.S. You can follow their journey over on their blog.
